Stroke Improvement
is the natural progression from Elgin Learn to Swim. The focus is a continuation of the development of individual stroke skills and great for introducing the swimmers to the Olympic Pool environment ie, bigger, longer, deeper, cooler pools. These groups are taken by our very experienced and qualified staff, Jenni Leggett, and Abby Martin.
Stroke Improvement Classes are held at the Gisborne Olympic Pool each School Term, Monday to Thursday.
Fees $65 for School term ie 1 session per week.
Fees $100 for School term ie 2 sessions per week.
Progression from Stroke Improvers is to Comet Squads.
Squads
Comet swimmers have the rare benefit of having access to Long Course and Short Course Sessions.
Squads are based at the Gisborne Olympic Pool Complex.
There are 7 squads. Squad timetables can be viewed under the Timetable Page.
Clubnights
Clubnights are generally held every fortnight on Thursday Evenings.
Clubnight dates and start times are advertised on Swim Meets Page.
Squad Swimmers are expected to attend Clubnights and become involved in Interclub and Interdistrict Swim Meets.
Fees $55 per month ( regardless of attendance)
Affiliation Fees
Swimmers are required to pay Affiliation fees to Swimming N.Z. This is currently $65 P.A.
